“I am a complete stranger with advice about your life.”
This is a note that is taped to the side of a little stand that sits on my end table. I can’t remember where it came from. It’s been a part of my life for a long time. And it’s helped me keep my head when strangers think they know me.
You might be wondering what strangers have to do with neighbors. I think a lot. In this time neighbors are often strangers. I even once heard about a neighborhood where a house was robbed by the thieves acting as if they were moving out. The neighbors didn’t even realize the house was being robbed.
Sometimes strangers act like neighbors and neighbors act like strangers.
Strangers give advice to others like they are intimately involved in a situation when they don’t have a clear picture.
Sometimes a stranger can be someone that you should intimately know and sometimes a neighbor is closer than family.
Sometimes the people you consider neighbors end up to be strangers.
Sometimes neighbors can be found through adversity.
Linking up with Kate and the gang at Five Minute Friday. This week’s word is neighbor.
